Increase in flights between Algeria and Canada (Vols suplementaires entre l’Algerie et le Canada) 12 Janvier 2011

Canada and Algeria agreed on Tuesday to increase passenger flights between the two countries.
The decision was announced by visiting Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon.
The number of weekly flights from Algeria to Canada will rise from two to three during the winter season, and from two to four in summer, helping respond to the rapid growth in demand for air travel between the two countries.
After a bilateral visit with Algeria, Cannon said the expanded agreement demonstrated the strength of the relationship between Canada and Algeria, and their growing commercial and tourism ties.
“The expansion of the bilateral air transport agreement will make it more convenient for people to fly between our two countries and provide benefits to the Canadian and Algerian air sectors,” said Chuck Strahl, Canadian Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.
Since the launch of the Blue Sky Policy in November 2006, Canada has negotiated air transport agreements with more than 50 countries, including open skies-type agreements with 11 countries, expanded agreements with nine countries and new “first time” agreements with eight countries. A comprehensive air transport agreement also exists between Canada and the European Union’s 27 member states.
The air agreement with Algeria was first signed in 2006.

Des enfants de 12 ans protestent les conditions lamentables de leur ecole

En Algérie, la protestation n’a plus d’âge ! A Baraki, dans la banlieue d’Alger, des enfants âgés d’à peine 12 ans ont quitté les bancs de leur école pour descendre dans la rue et crier leur colère devant des policiers médusés.
C’est une scène qui a stupéfié toute la population de Baraki, une commune déshéritée située dans la banlieue est de la capitale. Mardi matin, plus de deux cents élèves d’une école primaire s’alignent tel un bataillon pour barrer la route qui mène à Larbâa, une ville située à 25 km sud d’Alger. De leur voix angélique surgissent des paroles révoltées à travers lesquelles ces enfants ont exprimé haut et fort leur ras-le-bol contre la précarité. More >
Rabah Saâdane nouveau sélectionneur du Yémen

C’est désormais officiel. L’ancien sélectionneur national, Rabah Saâdane, est le nouvel entraîneur de la sélection yéménite de football pour les trois prochaines années avec comme premier objectif la qualification au Mondial-2014 au Brésil, a annoncé samedi 01 janvier le secrétaire général de la Fédération yéménite de football, Hamid Chibani.
“A compter du 1er janvier 2011, Rabah Saâdane est le nouvel entraîneur du Yémen pour trois ans. Il aura comme adjoints Zoheir Djelloul, avec qui il a travaillé en équipe nationale algérienne, et un technicien yéménite”, a déclaré Hamid Chibani à la Radio internationale algérienne. “Saâdane aura comme première mission la qualification du Yémen à la Coupe du Monde en 2014″, a-t-il ajouté.
